In an unforeseen gesture security services released Muslim Brotherhood political detainees after serving three quarters of their unjust and harsh prison sentences on the grounds that they financed a banned organization.

The MB leaders were unjustly tried in a military tribunal in 2008 and were issued sentences ranging from 3-10 years despite numerous civilian court acquittals.

The detainees were transferred to state security headquarters late last night and are expected to return to their families later today.

They include Ahmed Shousha, Sadek Sharqawy and Ahmed Ashraf.

Currently remaining in prison are MB Deputy Leader Engineer Khairat Al-Shater and businessman Dr. Hassan Malik both serving the harshest sentences of 7 years.
