The Syrian government on Tuesday approved a drafted law for ending the State of Emergency enforced since 1963. The law lifts the Supreme State Security Court and another approves the right to demonstrate peacefully in accordance with regulations and procedures including having a permit from the Interior Ministry. The government has also asked the competent ministries to expedite the preparation of the draft law on political parties, the draft law on media and the local administration which will be presented for discussion as soon as possible. Prime Minister Adel Safar stressed that communication with the citizens and responding to their demands according to the available resources is continuing. Special attention will be given to improve the living standards of the youth. |
