Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) strongly denounces the violent and criminal terrorist attack on a security checkpoint manned by Egyptian border guards near the Rafah crossing in North Sinai, killing at least 15 Egyptian soldiers and seriously wounding seven others around sunset.

The FJP calls upon the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as the government and all agencies concerned, to take all measures required to address this serious challenge to Egyptian sovereignty, and take necessary action to protect the Sinai from all armed groups.

The FJP offers its heart-felt condolences to the families of the honorable martyrs, and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.
