Engineers against the siege decided to bring suit against Water Resources Minister and the chief justice of South Cairo Court because they refrained from implementing the vredict issued by the Administrative Court to lift the siege of the Engineers Association.

Omar Abdullah (General Coordinator of Engineers against the Siege) in an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, said that the movement will sue the Water Resources Minister and the chief justice of South Cairo Court , although the latter has legislative immunity but it would be withdrawn because he is a governmental employee that refrained from implying a judicial verdict.

Abdullah accused the Minister and the chief justice of failing to implement the court’s decision of opening the door for nomination of the Council with lifting the siege, and he added “The Water Resources Minister has nothing to do but to agree on the court’s verdict and allowing nomination or to re-convene the General Assembly again, and he done both before”.

It is worth noting that the Association had been under the siege since May 1995, that is 14 years until now, despite the issuance of 12 decisions by the court to lift the siege but it never been implemented clearly, as the executive authority neglects the judicial verdicts.
